Buckeye Swimming
Mission Statement
BKYS is dedicated to developing and motivating swimmers at all levels. We support student athletes in the sport of competitive swimming by developing the character traits, technical skills and intense desire necessary for maximum realization of each individual's potential. BKYS provides a fun, team-building experience. BKYS recognizes the contribution of all of its members and strives to maintain athletic excellence in a supportive team environment.
The Buckeye Swim Club Boosters
The booster club is an integral part of the BKYS. By fundraising the boosters are able to help provide the swimmers with much needed pool time, awards and many social activities, including the season ending banquet. Each family is encouraged to become a member of the booster club and contribute towards fundraising. Fortunately, all families will be able to participate in fundraising in order to help keep our club strong and (if so desired) reduce their meet fees. Both programs are outlined below
Support our National Travel Swimmers!
Our senior program will be traveling to Florida in March for the Spring Sectional Meet. Richard Mazur will travel to California in December for the Can-AM and North Dakota in March for Paralympic Trials. Each trip costs in the thousands of dollars to send a coach and a swimmer. Please consider doanting or participating in our dine-in days to support these swimmers.

Swim Meets
Each year we host the Ohio Regional Championships at Thomas Worthington in the end of February. Our entire team does a great job pitching in help so that we host a wonderful event for the local swimmers.
Dine -in Days
Approxiamtely once a month we host dine in days with lcoal restauarants. A portion of your receipt will go to our Booster Club.
Individual Fundraising
Back this year, those who participate in our scrip program will have their meet fees reduced by the monthly revenue that they generate. Scrip is a program where local and national retailers give us discounts in exchange for buying their gift certificates. Thus by pre-purchasing for your everyday spending you can bring a profit to the club and save money on your training fees. Most of our participants are able to raise $25-50 each month. Interested participants should contact coach Laurie Karr for more details.

Every time you shop at Kroger and scan your Kroger Plus Card you will be credited your purchases towards your Buckeye Swim Club account. Every three months, I receive a report and a check for the amount credited to our club. You get that amount deposited directly into your account to use against meet or training fees. Unlike most PTO fundraisers, we do not pull a percent out for Buckeye –you get FULL credit! Our best scrip participants were able to earn well over $300 this year towards swimming. Most of our Kroger rewards participants earn $5-15 per month just for buying groceries and using their Kroger plus card.
